A level Results News

We are absolutely delighted to announced that, despite the difficulties with grading of exams this year, so many Energy Coast UTC students have secured great grades in their A level and level 3 exams and have secured apprenticeships and university places. We are incredibly proud of our students and staff who have worked so hard through this difficult time.

Our students are far more than the sum of their grades and so we want to celebrate the individuals who have stood out and shone for all sorts of different reasons – we’ll be sharing these throughout the day on our social media pages.

We are also aware that some of our students have not, due to the difficulties with the way exam grades were standardised by Ofqual and exam boards, received the grades they so richly deserved. For these students we will be supporting them in either appealing their grade or resitting their exam in October.

Head of Year 11 Rob Phizacklea, who nominated the UTC, said, “I felt that the award would be an appropriate way to thank staff for their ongoing support during lockdown. We are therefore delighted to see that our efforts have been recognised by a national organisation.”

Virtual Lessons

We are currently preparing to launch online virtual lessons. From Monday 1st June, all students will receive an online, face to face, lesson with their subject teacher, once a week for each subject they study. This will give students between 6 and 10 face to face lessons per week, as part of the online programme. The remainder of their current online programme will continue as normal.

We have sent information to all Year 9/10 and 12 students and parents explaining how to access online lessons, along with advice and rules they need to follow keep them safe online. Please take the time to read through this information, so that you are able to support your child as they take the first steps back to face to face lessons with their teacher.
