How our Employer Sponsors and Partners Support our Students

Here at the Energy Coast UTC we are delighted to partner with commercial organisations committed to supporting your child to secure a career in engineering. Here is a selection of some of the ways in which they support our students to achieve academically and prepare themselves for industry:

Partner Spotlight: Morgan Sindall & Arup

Our students directly benefit from the financial support of our commercial partners. Morgan Sindall and Arup have demonstrated their commitment to support the next generation of Young Engineers by:

Uniform Sponsorship

As well as replenishing the uniforms of the students the UTC currently provide for, Morgan Sindall and Arup have also provided the funding to cover the uniform costs for our new cohort of students starting at the UTC this September 2016.

State of the Art Classrooms

Morgan Sindall has sponsored our Environmental Studies laboratory, and Arup has sponsored our 3D Engineering classroom.

Social Benefit Fund

As a direct result of sponsored funding we have established a Social Benefit Fund to assist families in need with the associated costs of attending the UTC. This fund will allow us to ensure that any student from within Allerdale or Copeland that wishes to join the UTC is not financially restricted from submitting an application.

"We have made a long term commitment to the UTC, and by sponsoring uniforms and teaching facilities, we can ensure each student is given the opportunity to train in world class facilities, in a uniform they are proud to wear. We have an important role to play in making a positive difference to the education of young people, and ensuring they are trained to the highest standard is vital for West Cumbria, given the future opportunities available. There is a massive demand for skilled employees in West Cumbria, and this is our opportunity to nurture and develop young people to ensure they are better prepared for the future."
Andy Crowder, Operations Director Nuclear, for Morgan Sindall

At Arup, we are strongly committed to community engagement and the work that is provided by the UTC is outstanding. They have the qualities to bring out the best in the students who attend their college and through our sponsoring of the new classroom we hope to be contributing in creating the engineers of tomorrow."
Mike Osborne, Director at Arup
