Coronavirus 12 March, 2pm update

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update 12 March 2020

At this time we are not aware of any suspected or confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting any member of our school community. If this changes we will let you know immediately.

Government advice is still for all schools to remain open and for all members of the school community to follow Public Health England (PHE) health advice; you can find more information using the link below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about- covid-19/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19

I would like to remind you about simple measures you can take at home and school to prevent infections from spreading:

  • Catch your cough or sneeze in the crook of your elbow or use a tissue. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

General information about coronavirus (COVID-19) is available on the PHE website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

If you or your child experience any of the following symptoms you should follow the advice in the link above. What action you should take will depend on your individual circumstances; for example whether you have travelled recently or whether you have been in close contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of coronavirus (COVID-19). If you are unsure please dial 111.

  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Difficulty in breathing / shortness of breath

We have a dedicated area set up on the website to issue coronavirus (COVID-19) updates. This will be updated as and when it is necessary. Please check this area should you require any further information. There are also a series of FAQ, with answers, in this area of the website.

Should there ever be a need for the school to close, updates will be provided on our website and an area will be made available for students to access work, via Office 365. You will be alerted to any updates by text message, therefore it is very important that we have up to date contact numbers.
