English & Geography Revision

Dear Parent/Carer,

Just to let you know that on Sunday 21st May (the day before the English Literature Paper 1 exam) I will be running a revision session in school for all students to cover 'Macbeth' and 'The Woman in Black' which will be the focus of the paper for the next day.

The session will run between 9:00am and 12:30pm. It will be an opportunity for students to revise the key themes, ideas, characters and exam techniques for each essay response. I would strongly encourage that all students to attend.

In the afternoon on Sunday 21st May between 1pm and 3pm Mr Richardson will also be running a Geography revision session- again all students are invited and encouraged to attend. If students are staying after English for the Geography revision session then they should bring a packed lunch or snack as the canteen in school will not be open.

Finally, prior to each of the English exams I have booked the auditorium in the Energus building from 8:00am to 8:45am to provide students with a last minute 'exam booster' session. Following the booster session we will bring students over to have some breakfast (if they wish) before going into the exam. The dates for the English exams and therefore dates when the early morning booster sessions are as follows:
  • Monday 22nd May
  • Friday 26th May
  • Tuesday 6th June
  • Monday 12th June

I understand that a lot of students travel to school via buses and that these do not always arrive into school by 8:00am. However, if they could get into school as close to 8:00am and head straight to the Energus building I'll be waiting to provide some final reminders, words of encouragement and most of all support.

If your son/daughter will be attending the revision session on Sunday 21st May between 9:00am and 12:30pm for English could I request that you email either enquiries or myself (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to confirm- just so that I can sort out the logistics and any necessary photocopying for the day! Likewise, if you could email either enquires or Mr Richardson (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to confirm attendance at Geography then it would be much appreciated.

I thank you in advance for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Miss Wilson
